TLC offers a range of sports injuries and massage clinic treatments in Coulsdon. These include sports, deep tissue, holistic, pregnancy, and lymphatic drainage. All forms of massage help release muscle tension and restore balance to the muscular-skeletal system. Sports massage reduces the strain and discomfort caused by training or participating in sports.
The massage encourages the body to heal injuries sustained. The range of motion and strength of the injured muscles improve. This treatment thereby accelerates the healing process. The techniques used in a sports massage are much more specific than in other forms of remedial massage. The aim is to target particular muscle groups to maximise results.

However, you do not have to be sporty to benefit from a sports massage! Sports massage is a physical and psychological form of body maintenance. We also offer Kinesiology taping during the initial stage of injury.
Deep Tissue Massage at the TLC Sports Injuries and Massage Clinic
Deep tissue massage offers a thorough but more relaxing approach to targeting the soreness we experience daily. We tailor the massage treatment to the individual’s requirements, focusing on specific body parts depending on a patient’s needs. The massage strokes also work deep into the muscle tissues to alleviate chronic soreness. We always consider pain tolerance levels to ensure the best level of care.
Sports Injuries and Massage Clinic & Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage combines Thermotherapy (heat applications) with massage strokes using stones to create a deep, relaxing, healing treatment. The stones’ heat warms the skin, allowing it to absorb moisturizing and therapeutic oils. It also helps the therapist work into deeper muscle layers.
Benefits include:
- Increased local circulation.
- Improving blood flow to surrounding tissue.
- Greater ability to eliminate toxins and waste products from the area.
- Creates a greater sense of depth to the massage.
- It helps decrease muscle spasms and muscle stiffness.
We can incorporate cold stones, which help when tissue becomes traumatized or injuries occur. We can also incorporate cold stones, which also help. When someone applies a colder object to damaged tissue, it lowers the temperature, causing blood vessels to constrict. This slows metabolism, reducing the rate of cell damage and decreasing fluid build-up/swelling. Cold stones can help act as decongestants, pushing blood, fluid, and waste out of chronically tense, overworked, or inflamed tissue. An example is the eye orbits, which can help reduce dark circles.
Using a combination of hot and cold stones creates a dramatic movement of fluids within the body. This constricts and dilates the blood vessels, generating a healing, cleansing, and nourishing effect. The result is a deeply relaxing treatment.
Pregnancy Massage
During pregnancy, the body undergoes many changes. Pregnancy massage can provide enormous benefits for the mother-to-be and baby. Once you are in the second trimester, it is safe to receive a pregnancy massage. You will receive a gentle but effective treatment while lying on your side. We aim to relax you while targeting the areas that are aching completely. The more common tend to be the lower back, hips, and later pregnancy stages, legs, and feet. Once again, our post-natal treatments are tailor-made to your needs. They will also depend on whether you have given birth by C-section or naturally. They always aim to relax and give you valuable time.
Scar Tissue Therapy
RESTORE Scar Therapy treatment can help care for your scar and the underlying tissue. Treatment can help reduce symptoms related to your surgery or injury, such as:
- Pain, sensitivity, or numbness after surgery or injury.
- Limited movement or tightness.
- Pulling or puckering.
- Fibrous scar tissue or scar adhesions.
Your appointment will include specialist scar massage and fascial techniques at the right pace and pressure. It will also include self-care advice for caring for your scar at home.
A RESTORE Scar therapy appointment in the first 6-12 months after a scar forms is helpful. Even if you are not experiencing unwanted complications, treatment is effective in older scars. It is never too late to benefit from scar treatment. It is highly beneficial for ladies following a C-section birth. However, they must be 8 weeks post-birth before undertaking the therapy.
